Skeleton Gift Tags for Halloween

What's in the Skeleton Tag Set

Five skeleton tags, each printed with its own contour line to cut along, rather than a plain rectangle. The figures are caught mid-motion — running, jumping, one arm raised — with oversized round skulls and exaggerated hands and feet. A punch hole sits at the top of each tag, ready for ribbon or twine. The set is a free download — sign up once and the PDF lands in your inbox, ready to print.

Paper: 220 g/m² is the sweet spot for this design — sturdy enough that the finished tag holds its shape on a ribbon, while still feeding cleanly through most home printers. Heavier stock risks jamming a standard inkjet or laser tray; this weight avoids that without feeling flimsy.

Set your printer to Scale: "None" or 100%, with print quality on High. Scaling affects the tag's actual size, and a lower print quality setting softens the fine linework in the skeleton outlines.

Cutting, Punching, and Attaching

Cut along the printed lines with a craft knife or sharp scissors, following the contour rather than trimming to a rectangle. Revolving punch pliers give a cleaner, more consistent hole than a standard hole punch, particularly useful here since the punch point sits on a curved head rather than a flat edge. Thread ribbon or twine through the hole and attach to your gift.

Three small skeleton-shaped gift tags with white and black outlines are arranged on a pink background, alongside a black-and-white striped gift bag.

Pairing With a Gift Bag

These tags share their monochrome, graphic style with nucaneca's Monochrome gift bag collection — printed in the same black-on-white palette, they read as a set rather than two separate purchases layered together.

Questions on paper or printing come up often enough that we've covered them in the FAQ — worth a look before your first print run.

Once cut and threaded, the tags hold their own next to a plain gift bag or a wrapped box — no extra styling needed. The download covers the design work; printing, cutting, and tying take the rest of the time.
